     Jim Earle originally founded Carmel Valley Home Improvement in 2004 in San Diego, CA following a successful career in financial services.  After twelve years as a stockbroker,  Jim wanted to do something more meaningful.  He says, “As a broker, you make money when you make trades, whether it’s in the client’s best interest or not.” As  Carmel Valley Home Improvement grew their mastery in kitchen and bathroom remodeling became obvious and the decision was made to rebrand into Carmel Valley Contracting.  In early 2023 after numerous visits to the Lake Country Jim decided it was time to relocate the business and rebrand to JRE Custom Homes. 

    Jim chose to become a contractor because, “When you improve a person’s home, you improve the quality of their life.   When your house is nice, it makes everything in your life run better.”

     A former US  Army Ranger, who went into the military as an enlisted man after high school, Jim went on to graduate from San Diego State with a degree in business.

    Jim currently resides in Eatonton GA and has 2 grown sons, his  youngest now entering his senior year in Chico State as a finance major, and his eldest after earning a degree in aeronautical engineering is now in training to be a Marine Corp fighter pilot.

    Over the year Jim has volunteered with the YMCA Adventure Guides program helping to develop strong bonds between parents and children that support self esteem and communication skills that are the foundation for positive life-long relationships.  He spent a year as Indian Guide Nation Chief  running monthly camp outs for over 200 fathers and sons.  Rumor has it that Jim used his construction skills to craft a giant wooden mallet and smashed watermelons Gallagher style for a cheering crowd of seven to ten-year-old boys.

    Watermelons and giant mallets aside, Jim is a true construction professional. He and his team of professional tradesmen are dedicated to getting your job done on time and within budget.
